Morning water snakes! It’s raining hounds and hares in Minneapolis and after much wrangling with WordPress I’ve FINALLY gotten my classes page updated with August classes. Whew! We’ve been doing ‘theme’ months this summer – May was skirts, June shirts, July is the month of dresses and all of our August classes are home...

Classes! June and July… shirts and dresses.

Hey there cats and kittens! I’m calling it in today… I spent yesterday working in the garden and this morning I’m updating my class page and am just re-posting it here, too. It’s pretty exciting around Sewtropolis this summer – we’re taking a break from our normal mix of classes and we’re devoting each...

A short history of modern quilting, plotting and suggestions needed for baby loot.

Greetings you orange-skirt loving penguins! I’ll admit to having a slight bias towards the orange skirt when I hit publish on my last post, but I did NOT anticipate such overwhelming support for the pencil skirt! Lucky for all penguins and fellow avian-kind, I worked on TWO MORE of those skirts yesterday (of course,...

At long last! A Pendrell! (Sewaholic 1001)

Greetings earthlings! I’m pretty excited to FINALLY have some snapshots of the Pendrell to show all ya’ll tonight! I preordered the pattern (along with everyone else) and cut it out a few days after it arrived at my space hut. And there it sat. I’ve finally managed to get one stitched together; from a...

All wrapped up… (Kwik Sew 2954)

Sorry honeybees. I can’t pass up a pun. I’m also a sucker for alliteration and knock knock jokes. Today’s post is all about an easy to sew skirt that has had my heart soaring with the eagles as well as mucking about in the depths with the, oh I don’t know. Mud-wallowing creatures, I...

Teaching sewing classes… or, “wait–how do you put a zipper in again?”

Morning ducks! Last week I brazenly proclaimed the start of a new Snug Bug blog era  on my Facebook – more daily posts, even if there’s not much to post about. Alas, I spent most of yesterday working on my Lotus Blossom skirt (remember the funky welt pockets?) and then in the evening taught...

Looking forward to rain… Amy Butler Rainy Days Raincoat

Good evening saber tooth tigresses! I have a real, live finished project to show off today! This is a double-duty project; not only does it fit in with my Spring Palette Challenge, it’s also a sample for the shop and a future class project! While I don’t condone killing, I may as well kill...

First day of school and a picture in a magazine!

No sewing updates today! I found all the Parfait comments interesting – looks like I wasn’t the only one who questioned the dress! Tonight was my first ‘official’ night of teaching a class at the shop where I work – Pajama bottoms! It was great fun and I’m looking forward to teaching more classes....
